3 Simple Steps You Can Take To Keep Fit & Healthy During Lockdown

We are all aware of the current COVID-19 siuation and with gyms across the UK now closing, it looks like we are in this for the long haul.

It is easy to think this is the end for our fitness goals. However, there is plenty we can still do to keep fit at home. In fact, you should view this as an opportunity.

An opportunity to put some focus back onto yourself.

Maybe you've been crazy busy at work with a hectic schedule over recent months, but find yourself stuck at home with little to do. Put this time to good use.

1. Workout At Home

Exercise is especially important during this period, with it playing a huge role in your physical AND mental well-being.

There are plenty of bodyweight exercises you can do, so lack of a gym is not the end of the world.

Whether it's an hour workout or just 15 minutes first thing in the morning - remember it all counts and will leave you feeling energetic and even improve your mood for the rest of the day.

If you have the chance, get your hands on a kettlebell or two as well (Be quick - kettlebells are selling out FAST now there is no access to the gym!). The 'King' of home gym equipment will allow you even more variety and opportunity to progress your strength and fitness levels even further.

2. Go For a Walk

A brisk walk has been proven to be a great stress reliever, as well as helping with your cardiovascular fitness levels.

Take a 30-45 minute walk each day.

Again, you will be left feeling invigorated. It's a great chance to take a step away from your screens, too.

3. Look to Vitamins

With the rise of the panic buy, supermarkets have been left pretty bare. It's not just the toilet paper, either - fresh food, tins, meat; the lot. It can be hard finding food at all, forget healthy food! Although there are still a few options available (all be it more expensive options), it may be worth looking to vitamins to make up for what your body may be missing out on.

In particular, look for a range of B & C Vitamins to boost your energy throughout the day. Iron supplements may also be necessary if you aren't consuming much meat or are vegetarian/vegan.
